here are the steps to get into business analytics and getting the job you want
business &data analyst analyse the data and generate insights to help solve business problems
1 ) get an undergraduate degree
it helps to get a degree in a business, finance, IT, or data analytics, it also work if you have any other degree you can still translation into a business analytics
2) Acquire technical and non technical skills
Technical skills
. data analytics tools - PowerBI/Tableau
. Programming languages - Python/ R
you don't have to learn all, many of them can be learnt on job too, just makes sure you know at least know MS Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, and a data analytics tool to begin with .
Non technical skills
. communication
. presentation
. Business
best way to learn them is through project
3) work on hands on projects and get some experience.
if you are fresher gain experience by doing an internship work with any small or big organisation
if you are working but in a different role
take up extra / side projects in your company that businesses analyst Undertaker or in cases with longer experience you can consider master in business analytics also.
when you are starting out start by gaining experience in diverse domains and industry once you have worked in the field you can also specialized in one area.
4) Masters in Business analytics /MBA in Business Analytics / General MBA
this can be great option to if you already have some experience.
5) network with a people in your area and find mentors to get a job referral
6) update resume LinkedIn and apply for jobs .
